The first story that may be of interest to followers of this blog is written by colleague, Ruth Townsend and I where we argue for the need for national registration of paramedics. ‘Paramedics administer drugs and deliver babies, so why aren’t they registered?’ The Conversation, 13 November 2014.
The other story is unrelated but quite interesting. The Canberra Times is reporting that ‘Canberra is leading the world in disaster management, according to the head of the United Nation’s Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.’ See Emma Kelly, ‘UN dubs Canberra world leader in disaster management’, The Canberra Times, 12 November 2014.
The link is incorrect Michael.
Your right of course, but I have fixed it on this page (but of course not if you try the link on the story sent by email). The correct link is

Hi Michael
Just so you know, you’ve added a double URL to your ‘Paramedics’ article – that means it doesn’t direct properly to The Conversation article (404 error).
Savvy people will work it out, most certainly, and it is correctly linked on your blog, but thought you may like to be aware.
Terrific article btw.
