Since I’m no longer sponsored to run this blog (see This blog is no longer sponsored (September 17, 2025)) I’m going to let this wordpress site ‘downgrade’. From 1 April 2026:

  • The URL will become emergencylaw.wordpress.com but I’m told if you still go to australianemergencylaw.com it will redirect to the new URL so you shouldn’t notice a difference.
  • There will be ads on the site. I don’t control what ads appear and you should understand that the fact that an ad appears on this site is, in no way, an endorsement by me of the products being advertised.
  • My email address – meburn@australianemergencylaw.com – will cease to work.  If you want to contact me, try using Facebook messenger or email australianemergencylaw@gmail.com.
  • I don’t think it will make any difference to the site on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/EburnM/) or LinkedIn. (I rarely look at LinkedIn so it’s not a good way to contact me, try Facebook messenger or email instead).

To repeat what I said in my September post:

The blog will keep going but it will return to being a ‘labour of love’ rather than part of my job. But nothing can last forever (and this blog is now 16 years old, the first post was in January 2009) so I will continue it only for as long as I continue to enjoy it and think it is of use but without a contracted obligation to continue.

I look forward to making ongoing contributions into the future.
